RICARDO GALVAN
Galvan collages various aspects of his life experiences, such as crossing the border to watch his father play basketball, struggling with Spanish, and growing up in low-income housing, into his art. He combines imagery from pop culture and historical sources to express emotions related to personal identity. Galvan’s work explores historical motifs, including the Aztec civilization, Catholicism, and Mexican American culture in California. This broad array of influences mirrors the artist’s lived experience.
