Picos’ paintings explore themes of space, perspective, and memory. By examining the history of images, the artist investigates how depictions of space influence our navigation of the real world. Recent works feature invented or constructed spaces inspired by puzzles, mazes, video games, and computer graphics. These fictitious landscapes, mapped into memory like childhood homes or familiar neighborhoods, are composed of graphic icons and 3D-rendered objects.
